The Food

The essentials on recipes, nutrition, and what sets Fatty Boy apart.

What makes Fatty Boy different from kibble?

Kibble was built for convenience. Fatty Boy was built for the dog. We make fresh food with real, whole ingredients — not ultra-processed pellets dressed up with marketing and mystery. The difference is simple: this looks like food because it is food.

Is Fatty Boy a complete and balanced diet?

Yes. Our meals are formulated to meet AAFCO nutrient profiles for adult dogs, so your dog gets complete nutrition, not just better-looking ingredients.

Which recipe is right for my dog?

That depends on your dog’s size, routine, preferences, and feeding needs. Our Feast Finder helps point you toward the best fit — beef, turkey, or both.

Feeding & Transition

Portions, food transitions, and getting your dog settled into the bowl.

How do I transition my dog to Fatty Boy?

To help avoid digestive upset, transition gradually over 7–10 days. Start with about 25% Fatty Boy and 75% of your dog’s current food for the first 2–3 days, then move to 50/50 for the next 2–3 days, then 75% Fatty Boy and 25% current food for another 2–3 days before switching fully. If your dog has a sensitive stomach, slow the transition down and give them a few extra days at each step.

How much should I feed my dog?

We calculate portions based on your dog’s details, so the amount is tailored rather than guessed. The Feast Finder handles the math and gives you a feeding recommendation built for your dog.

What if my dog is a picky eater?

That’s more common than you think, especially during a food change. The best approach is to transition gradually, stay consistent, and give your dog time to adjust to something new. Because Fatty Boy is real food, many dogs respond quickly once they smell and taste it — but if your dog needs a little longer, that’s okay too.

What if my dog needs a portion adjustment?

That can happen. Activity level, body condition, and routine all play a role. If your dog needs an adjustment after getting started, reach out and we’ll help you dial it in.

Orders & Subscriptions

How recurring billing works and what you can manage after signup.

How does the subscription work?

You’ll choose your dog’s recipe, subscription option, and pickup location before checkout. Your first charge happens at checkout, and your subscription will then renew automatically on the billing schedule tied to that subscription. You can log in to view your order history, upcoming subscription date, current subscription details, pickup or delivery information, and payment method.

Can I manage my subscription after I sign up?

Yes. You’ll be able to log in and manage key parts of your subscription, including updating your payment method, updating your pickup information, and pausing, skipping, or canceling your subscription. If you need to change your recipe or subscription option, contact Fatty Boy directly and we’ll help you update it.

Pickup & Delivery

Pickup location details, order readiness, and local fulfillment questions.

Where do I pick up my order?

Your pickup location is selected during checkout. That location will be used for your order unless a change is arranged with Fatty Boy.

When will my order be ready, and how will I know?

Once your order is ready, we’ll notify you using the contact information on your account with the details you need for pickup.

What happens if I miss pickup?

Contact us as soon as possible. Because this is fresh food, timing matters, and we’ll help determine the best next step.

Do you offer delivery?

At this time, Fatty Boy is pickup only.

Storage & Serving

How to store, thaw, serve, and handle the food safely.

How should I store the food — refrigerated or frozen?

Fatty Boy arrives frozen and should be kept frozen until you’re ready to use it. Thaw it in the refrigerator before feeding. Once thawed, keep refrigerated until served.

How long does it last?

Keep unopened food frozen until needed. Once thawed, keep refrigerated and use within 3 to 4 days. Do not leave food sitting out for more than 2 hours.

How should I serve it, and can I warm it up?

Fatty Boy must be fully thawed before feeding. Serve it chilled or let it come a little closer to refrigerator temperature if your dog prefers. You can warm it gently, but do not overheat it. Do not microwave the food in its original packaging. Transfer it to a microwave-safe dish first.
